What is ElectriStay?

ElectriStay is an AI-powered booking platform that connects electric vehicle travelers with hotels offering guaranteed EV charging. Unlike traditional charging apps that focus only on finding stations, we integrate charging into your accommodation booking—so you can reserve both your room and your charging slot in one seamless experience. We're based in Switzerland and focused on making EV travel stress-free.

How is ElectriStay different from other EV charging apps?

Most charging apps help you find available stations—but availability isn't guaranteed when you arrive. ElectriStay takes a hospitality-first approach: when you book a hotel through our platform, your charging spot is reserved along with your room. Our AI-powered system also optimizes charging times and pricing, suggesting the best slots based on your check-in/check-out schedule and current electricity rates.

Where is ElectriStay available?

We're launching in Switzerland with plans to expand across Europe. Switzerland is ideal for EV travel with its excellent infrastructure and high EV adoption rates. Check our Locations page for current partner properties, and sign up for updates as we add new destinations.

How do I book accommodation with EV charging?

Search for hotels on our platform by destination, dates, and your EV's charging requirements (connector type, charging speed). When you book your room, you'll see available charging slots and can reserve one that fits your schedule. The system automatically suggests optimal charging times based on electricity rates and your departure time.

Is my charging spot guaranteed?

Yes! When you book through ElectriStay, your charging slot is reserved just like your hotel room. No more arriving at a hotel only to find all chargers occupied. If any unexpected issue arises, our support team will arrange alternative charging at no extra cost.

What types of EVs and connectors are supported?

Our partner hotels offer various charger types including Type 2 (standard in Europe), CCS for fast charging, and CHAdeMO. Each property listing shows available connector types and charging speeds. You can filter search results by your vehicle's requirements to find compatible accommodations.

Can I charge overnight while I sleep?

Absolutely—this is one of the main benefits of hotel-based charging. Our smart system can schedule your charging during off-peak hours (typically overnight) when electricity is cheapest, so you wake up to a full battery and lower costs. You'll receive a notification when charging is complete.

How much does charging cost?

Charging costs vary by hotel and are clearly displayed before you book. Many hotels offer complimentary charging for guests, while others charge per kWh or a flat fee. Our AI-powered dynamic pricing often finds you better rates than public charging stations—especially during off-peak hours. Hotel guests typically receive preferential rates compared to external users.

What is dynamic pricing?

Our AI analyzes real-time electricity rates, hotel occupancy, and charger availability to offer optimized pricing. This means charging during off-peak hours (like overnight) is typically cheaper than peak times. When you book, we'll show you the best available time slots and their prices so you can choose what works for your schedule and budget.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We believe in complete transparency. All costs—accommodation, charging fees, and taxes—are displayed before you confirm your booking. The price you see is the price you pay.

Do you offer subscriptions for frequent travelers?

Yes! We offer subscription plans for frequent EV travelers and corporate accounts. Subscribers get discounted charging rates, priority booking for high-demand periods, and simplified billing. Contact us for details on individual and business subscription options.

What commission does ElectriStay charge?

We charge a competitive 6.5% commission on bookings—significantly lower than traditional OTAs that charge 15-20%. We believe in building sustainable partnerships where hotels keep more of their revenue while gaining access to a growing market of EV travelers.

What if my property doesn't have chargers yet?

We can help! We provide consultation on charger selection, connect you with installation partners, and guide you through the process. You can register your interest through our "List Your Property" page even if you're still planning your charging infrastructure. We'll work with you to get your property EV-ready.

How does the hotel integration work?

Our system integrates with your property management system (PMS) to sync room bookings with charging reservations. Guest check-in/check-out times inform our smart scheduling, ensuring chargers are available when needed. We handle the technical complexity—your staff simply needs to direct guests to their reserved charging spot.

Account & Support

How do I create an account?

Click "Sign Up" and enter your email, create a password, and add your vehicle details (make, model, connector type). Having your EV information on file helps us show you compatible charging options and personalize recommendations. You can also sign up with Google or Apple for faster registration.

Can I modify or cancel my booking?

Yes, you can manage bookings through your account. Our standard policy allows free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Some properties may have different policies, which are clearly shown during booking. Modifications to charging slots can usually be made up until your scheduled charging time.

What if I have problems with a charger?

Contact our support team immediately through the app or website. We monitor charger status in real-time and can often troubleshoot issues remotely. If there's a hardware problem, we'll coordinate with the hotel and arrange alternative charging. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
